Antique Egyptian Blue Scarab Pendant necklace Brass lotus setting Rare & unique

A wonderful antique Egyptian scarab pendant. The scarab itself is a vibrant blue and it has a stunning mesmerizing hue that is between blue and green that could be a form of art glass. The top of the pendant is in the lotus motif.

The scarab and lotus motif became popular during periods of Egyptian revival , notably post-Napoleonic campaigning in Egypt and after the discovery of Tutankhamens tomb. As you can see on the back of the pendant there is a bar that could have at one time been attached to another object. The lotus setting appears to be brass.

There is some slight imperfection on one side that does not appear to be a chip, just a slight irregularity. It is sure to have an interesting history, but it came to me with no background. It is currently hung from a non- descript 16 inch modern black cord. A great interesting piece that begs for a story to tell.
