Great Set of Antique 19th Century German Brass Nested Apothecary Cup Weights
You are looking at a Great Set of Antique 19th Century German Brass. The seven ingenious apothecary weights nest inside each other and were made from solid brass at the beginning of the 19th Century in Germany.
The outside cup features a beautifully designed and executed hinge and closure mechanism. Most pieces are stamped with several symbols probably representing calibration marks. Some of the weights feature the date "1856". This is an original antique not one of the cheap knock-offs you can find online. The set measures 2 7/8" wide x 1 6/8" high.
