BAKELITE ART DECO NORWALK #4400 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK SET w/PLATES, KNOBS, KEYS NEW OLD STOCK (12126). Vintage: If you have a Art Deco or a Mid-CenturyModern house, this may be one of the best opportunities you will ever have for a new entry door mortise set! NEW OLD STOCK, never installed, Norwalk Lock Col, entry mortise lock #4400 set. Mortise has a heavy brass face plate painted flat black, measures 8" by 1 1/16" wide.

1/8 thick brass double plate on the front face. Box is also brass and it is 3 3/4 deep from the front edge of the faceplate to the back edge of the black box. The box is 5 1/2 top to bottom. Screws are on 7 1/8 centers. Set back from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole is 2 3/4.

Comes with both black bakelite plates and with matching bakelite oval knobs. The necks of the bakeplite knobs show some hairline cracks the necks are bakelite over brass and it seems unlikely any further cracks would appear with normal use. The lock has a 3/8 knobpost with it.

Set comes with the original Norwalk Hardware cylinder and two new keys AND with a black painted strikeplate. It was apparently never installed and is new old stock.

The backplates each measures 8" in length and 2 1/4" wide. The interior plate comes with a thumb lock that throws the deadbolt from the inside of the door. What a great find for a Art Deco or a Mid-Century home restoration! SEE OUR FULL INVENTORY of MORTISE LOCKS & KEYS HERE!
