ITEM : 2 Antique Doorknobs with 2 plates & a name plate. FEATURES: Embossed Lettering, Makers Mark. CONDITION: EUC (see photos & description for more details). Whether you're a collector, a restorer, or anyone else, I think you'll appreciate this Amazing One Of A Kind Set!

This set was originally created by Reading Hardware Company for the Boy's High School in Reading, Pa in 1884, where it was used until 1896. The building that these doorknobs adorned is now City Hall.

They are made of Gold Plated Brass. The doorknobs have BHS embossed beautifully on them surrounded by elegant decorative detail.

The plates are also Gold Plated brass and lined around the outside edge w matching elegant decorative design. The inside of the plates are marked Mycena RHC. They are in awesome condition, especially considering their age and the fact that they were used every day for decades at City Hall after the school. This is a beautiful set! I hope they go to a good home.
