Vintage: RUSSWIN #01248, shown in their 1920 catalog (see pic). Circa 1920 - 1940 entry mortise lock lock. Reconditioned, with a new Security Guard brass cylinder and two keys. Heavy brass faceplate with body of the lock clearly maker marked'RUSSWIN', one of America's great manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th & early part of the 20th Century. FACEPLATE: Brass face plate measures 7 3/4" long, 1 1/8" wide, 1/8 thick. BOX: Box is 3 3/4" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 5/8" top to bottom. SCREWS : Screws are on 6 3/4 centers. BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 7/8.

REVERSIBILITY: The lock is reversible. KNOB POST: Accommodates a split knob post of 5/16" on the inside and 3/8" on the outside. BACKPLATES: The interior backplate measures 2 1/2" wide and 8" high.

The outside plate is 12" long and 3" wide. THUMB TURN: A thumb turn knob is embodied in the inside backplate and it operates the deadbolt.
