Large Victorian Rim Lock Set. Rim lock set, which I have lovingly restored, and includes a rim lock, brass handle & back plate, key, escutcheon, and cast steel keep, which are in good working condition. Large heavy rim lock has an. An attractive worn metal finish, with a spring loaded latch and deadbolt actions. To the front of the lock are decorative brass.

The old key with tassel works the dead bolt well. The brass escutcheon is a similar shape to the escutcheon on the lock. The brass handle has the first brass knob that is.

Fitted to the end of the steel spindle bar, and the second knob screws onto the other end and is secured with a grub screw. The round cast brass back plate fits over one of the knob ends. The later cast steel keep complements the lock.

You will need some round head and countersunk screws with which to attach the rim lock set to your wooden door. The rim lock and brass handle have signs of wear of knocks, and scratches, which is to be expected in items of such age, and the locks spindle is worn but still works well (please see photographs), which gives the set its individual character.

This rim lock measures approximately 198 mm (7 13/16") wide, and 141 mm (5 9/16") high. Approximately from the centre of the handle spindle to the outside of the lock is 158 mm (6 1/4"), and from the centre of the key hole to the outside of the lock is 81 mm (3 3/16"). This large Victorian rim lock and handle set can compliment both period and modern internal wooden doors.
