Antique Mahjong Mah Jongg Set Beautiful Bamboo Sprout One Bams & Flower Tiles

Wonderful antique mahjong set with rarely seen beautifully carved bamboo sprout one bams. Complete set of 148 bovine bone and bamboo tiles 144 for play and four spare blanks. All tiles in lovely antique condition and measure 31mm x 21.5mm x 13.5mm, lovely generous bone tops make up more than 50% of the tile, some minor staining to the bone. Beautifully carved flower tiles, one run showing auspicious plants and flowers of China, the other showing objects from Chinese ceremonies and rituals such as tea making and snuff taking. Set complete with a large quantity of good quality bone scoring sticks, six bone dice in their little cricket box and a tong box with wind discs (tong box lid a poor fit).

Case in good antique condition with lovely patinated brass mounts one brass mount on sliding door is a little distorted and has a missing pin, one handle a little loose and sometimes pops out, but pops back in easily and could easily be repaired other minor expected signs of wear commensurate with age. Case measures 24cms x 16.5cms x 16.5cms. A beautiful set with lots of charm. Please see photos as part of condition report.
