Vintage: Extremely well made and clearly maker marked SARGENT on the lock box, comes with a genuine vintage Sargent brass cylinder lock and one key. Hard to find and in excellent fully restored condition and this is a COMPLETE SET in this regard. It includes a solid brass thumb press handle for the outside of the door. It includes a Sargent brass lock cylinder and one key and functions perfectly. It includes the thumb turn knob that throws the deadbolt from the inside of the door! It includes the 1/2 knob post shaft for the turn knob. It includes the brass escutcheon for the door knob.

It includes the door knob itself, brass (has a small dent in it). Awesome, If your home had this lock on the front door around 1915, it was a very, very fine home and in a very find neighborhood! The mortise lock push buttons were perfectly. Model # 6761 is in the casting inside the lock, this is Sargent lock number.

Heavy double brass face plate measures 8" by 1" wide. Box is 3 1/2" deep from the back of the front plate and it is 5 1/2" top to bottom. SCREWS: Screws are on 7 1/4 centers (they are under the faceplate top cover). Step back from the front of the front plate to the center of the cylinder lock is 2 1/2. The drop from the center of the lock cylinder cavity to the center of the knob post hole is 3 7/8.

A 3/16 square cam is located under the cylinder to accommodate throwing the deadbolt from the inside of the door. KNOB POST or KNOB SHAFT.

This lock utilizes a half shaft for the knob on the inside of the door, knob post hole is 5/16 on both sides. The lock is designed to accommodate a thumb press handle on the outside of the door and a turn knob on the inside of the door. Very clean inside and out, extremely well made, no rust, functions very well, with key! This is everything you need (save for a few screws) to completely transform your front door! Corbin was right: Great houses do deserve great hardware!
