Thumb door rim lock set, which I have lovingly restored, and includes a rim lock, brass handle, and cast steel keep, which is in good working condition. This Edwardian (or later) pattern thumb door rim lock has a rectangular. An attractive worn metal finish. With a spring loaded latch and thumb dead bolt actions.

The rim lock can be used on the left or right hand sides of a door. The brass handle has two brass knobs that fit onto the steel spindle ends, and are secured with grub screws. The round pressed brass backplate fits over one of the knob ends. The later cast steel keep complements the lock. You will need some round head screws, and brass nails (for the backplate), with which to attach the rim lock set to your wooden door. The rim lock set has signs of wear of knocks and scratches, which is to be expected with items of such age (please see photographs), which gives the set its individual character. This rim lock measures approximately 125 mm (4 15/16") wide, 120 mm (4 3/4") high, and from the centre of the handle spindle to the outside of the lock is 83 mm (3 1/4). This rim lock and handle set can compliment both period and modern internal wooden doors.
